You can ask Eloquens to start an email, not only to reply to one. Say what you want to send, for example "Send Priya a summary of the new onboarding steps". Eloquens works out who Priya is, uses what it knows from your knowledge, and writes the email in your assistant's voice. Nothing goes out until you review the draft and press Send.
Ask for an email
- Click Ask Eloquens in the left rail, or press ⌘ K (Mac) or Ctrl K (Windows) from any page.
- If your workspace has more than one assistant, choose which one the email goes out from. The assistant you pick decides which mailbox sends it.
- Describe the email in the message box: who it is for and what it is about. For example "Write to Marcus and ask for the invoice copy by Friday". Press Enter or click Ask.
On the Ask Eloquens page you can click the microphone and speak instead of typing; click it again to stop. Under Try you will find examples built from your own knowledge. Picking an email example puts it in the message box so you can change it first.
Answer a question if Eloquens asks one
If the ask is missing something, the chat asks before it writes. It shows people as buttons you can tap, and you can also type in the chat.
- Which person? If more than one match, you see Which name do you mean? Tap one below, or type their name or email address. If no one was named, you see Who should this go to?
- What is it about? What is the email about? Describe it in your own words.
If no one with that name is in your mail or workspace, Eloquens says so and tells you the address goes in the To field on the draft. Your answers only shape this draft. They are not saved as a rule. To stop, click Cancel; Eloquens confirms Cancelled. Nothing was sent., and Start again begins a new ask.
Review the draft
While Eloquens works, it shows what it is doing, for example Working out who and what… A first draft can take up to a minute. When it is ready the chat says Draft ready to review. The draft shows To, From (the assistant and its mailbox) and Subject above the text. You can:
- Click Edit to change the subject or the text in place, then Done.
- Click Change next to the recipient, or type an address in the To field if none was found.
- Click Discard to drop the draft.
- Click Send to send it. Send stays blocked, and the reason is shown, if there is no address (Add an address to send to), no subject (Give the email a subject before it goes.) or no text (The email has no body.).
After you send
A receipt appears with an Undo countdown of about ten seconds. Click it to pull the email back before it leaves. After that the email is sent from the assistant's mailbox and appears in Conversations once the mailbox has picked up the sent copy. Click Open Conversations to go there.
Good to know
- Writing an email works only through an assistant with a connected, active mailbox. If the mailbox needs reconnecting, writing and sending are blocked with a message pointing you to My Assistants.
- If you reload a chat that had an email in it, nothing is running. The chat says so and offers Write it again.
- Eloquens finds recipients from mail your assistants can already see and from workspace members. It has no separate address book, so give a full address when the person is new.
- Very long text cannot be sent from here. Shorten it and try again.
